HR Setup is the one-time foundational engagement that creates the complete HR infrastructure your company needs before a professional HR function can operate. It covers: HR Policies — a complete policy manual covering leave, code of conduct, work hours, disciplinary procedures; HR Documents and Letters — templates for offer letters, appointment letters, confirmation, increment, warning, and relieving letters; Salary Structure — a CTC-to-take-home structure built to be tax-efficient and statutorily compliant; Statutory Compliance Setup — PF, ESIC, PT, and LWF registration where applicable; and Cloud HRMS Setup — full deployment including employee profiles, leave structures, payroll configuration, and attendance settings.
For a startup of approximately 20 employees, HR Setup typically takes 3 to 4 weeks from the date of contract signing and receipt of required information. The typical sequence: intake call in Week 1, statutory registration applications and salary structure draft in Weeks 1–2, HR policy drafts for review in Week 2, revisions and approvals in Weeks 2–3, and HRMS configuration and go-live in Weeks 3–4. If PF is already registered and a basic salary structure exists, the timeline can be shorter. Companies with multi-state requirements or multiple approval stakeholders should allow 4 to 5 weeks.
Yes. Where your company has not yet registered under the applicable statutory acts, HRTailor initiates and coordinates the registration process as part of HR Setup. PF registration under the Employees' Provident Funds Act, 1952 is required for establishments with 20 or more employees. ESIC registration under the ESI Act, 1948 applies for establishments with 10 or more employees. PT and LWF registrations depend on your state of operations. Note that government processing timelines for statutory registrations are outside HRTailor's control — HRTailor submits documentation and follows up, but certificates are issued by the respective departments.
HR Setup is a one-time engagement. It creates the infrastructure. Monthly HR Solutions is the ongoing service that operates on that infrastructure. Without HR Setup, the monthly service has no policy framework to implement, no HRMS to operate, and no salary structure to run payroll against — which is why HR Setup is a prerequisite, not optional. After Setup is complete, the monthly service takes over: your HR Manager manages onboarding, handles employee queries, runs payroll, files compliance challans (in Package 2), and keeps the HR function running month to month. HR Setup is a one-time cost. Monthly HR Solutions is a recurring monthly subscription.
HR Setup is charged as a one-time fee ranging from INR 30,000 to INR 50,000 + 18% GST. The final fee depends on employee headcount, number of states, whether statutory registrations already exist, complexity of your compensation structure, and volume of policy customisation required. A company of 10 employees in a single state with no prior HR infrastructure would typically be at the lower end. A company of 40 employees across three states with an existing non-compliant structure would be closer to the upper end. The fee is quoted definitively after an initial discovery call. Following Setup, monthly packages begin at INR 10,000/month (Without Compliance) or INR 12,500/month (With Compliance) for up to 15 employees.
